Edmonton may not be the most glamorous city in the world. It’s not Paris. It’s not Dublin. Or New York. It’s freaking cold and dreary in the winter. But damn, this city knows how to party in the summertime. The prime example: the annual Edmonton Folk Fest, a four day celebration of some of the world’s finest folk musicians.

Gaga for Gaga in Edmonton
Who jumps off of a plane after seeing concerts in Europe only to go to another concert a day later?? Crazy people, that’s who! Me, that’s who! Not going to cancel my U2 in Europe holiday, but can’t miss Gaga’s Joanne World Tour either! So I went… a little bit jet lagged… It was totally worth it!

In Search of Paper Gods. Duran Duran in Edmonton

I mean, come on, Notorious, Rio, Hungry Like a Wolf!!?? Live!? Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor in the flesh? Delivering the tunes of my hey day? How could I not go? What kind of fangirl/Searcher of Rod Gods would I be if I didn’t go???
