So inspired by the Duran Duran concert was I, that I went out and bought their latest album Paper Gods, quickly followed by more from their back catalogue. In honor of Duran Duran Appreciation Day, here is my review (love affair) with Paper Gods, Thank You, and All You Need Is Now albums.
Who jumps off of a plane after seeing concerts in Europe only to go to another concert a day later?? Crazy people, that’s who! Me, that’s who! Not going to cancel my U2 in Europe holiday, but can’t miss Gaga’s Joanne World Tour either! So I went… a little bit jet lagged… It was totally worth it!
Over 80 days ago, on May 12, 2017, U2 set out on a beautiful musical journey that would captivate their audiences with a 30-year-old album. I was lucky enough to start my own musical journey with them that day for a total of 5 shows, just now finishing in Brussels on August 1, 2017.
So July 22 was U2 The Joshua Tree Tour in Dublin at Croke Park… sigh… I’m still processing the awesomeness… It is hard to put into words the significance of going to a U2 concert in Dublin (their hometown, for anyone who might not know…), but I am going to try…
Part two of my summer of concerts continues at Rogers Place, a mere four days after Duran Duran in almost the same seat, for Counting Crows and Matchbox 20 and their co-headlining tour: A Brief History of Everything.
So when the ultimate 80s synth band Rock Gods, Duran Duran, announced they were coming to my town, I jumped at the chance to see these Wild Boys live. I mean, come on, Notorious, Rio, Hungry Like a Wolf!!?? Live!? Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor in the flesh? Delivering the tunes of my hey day? How could I not go? What kind of fangirl/Searcher of Rod Gods would I be if I didn’t go???
If you are looking for a list of U2 sites to visit in and around Dublin, Ireland, this is the post for you! Map included!
This post is all about Berlin and its U2 must see sites. Complete with map and photos.
In celebration of 150 years of Canadian awesomeness, it seems appropriate to write a post on my Canadian Rock Gods. But how can I possibly narrow down the list to 15?! Some are no-brainers – you say “Canadian Rock Gods” and I will immediately shout out ‘The Tea Party!” and “The Tragically Hip!” Seriously, Canada would disown me, denounce me, kick me out and likely non-apologetically beat me with hockey sticks if The Hip were not on my list…
