Seeing Harry and Inhaler twenty years later at Slane felt like it would be a perfect closure to that story. Finally experiencing Slane. Finally seeing Harry for the first time. Finally seeing Inhaler for the first time. And, well, there are some concerts that demand you see them more than once. Instinctually, incorrigibly, inevitably, I knew I’d want, no NEED, to see more than one.
And so I also got tickets to Wembley 1 and 2…

She did for country music what Harry Potter did for literature. She didn’t just cross over genres, she tore down the walls. It seemed like everyone was listening to Shania. In the grocery stores, in the mall. On all the pop/rock and country radio stations.
And you watch Bono, and he watches you. Because Bono does that. He makes eye contact. And he holds it. So you get caught in the blue through pink gaze. You get the feeling connecting – human to human – is vital for him.

This convention truly was spectacular. Not just all the music and going-ons of the panels, but that sense of family and community that makes the SPNfamily unique. There is an instant familiarity and openness amongst the participants of events like these – built upon shared interests of the show, for sure, but after 15 years of that show, and 12 or so of the convention circuit, even if it’s your first convention, or you only just started watching the show and diving a bit into the fandom – there are welcoming arms if you want them. A family if and when you need it.

In addition to the new fact, as my friend said, that my life now includes the words “Jensen wrapped his arms around me,” the Supernatural Vancouver convention was particularly magnificent. As with the other three I’ve been too, we laughed ‘til tears ran down our cheeks, we cried, we sang, we danced. We met old friends and made new ones.

Ok, well, wow – that voice, first of all. That voice. Seriously, what an amazing, beautiful, smooth voice. This must be what velvet sounds like.
